Selected Ingredients of Hokuriku & Crab Dishes

Komatsu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, facing the Sea of Japan and surrounded by mountains

Komatsu City in Ishikawa Prefecture is a city on a plain rich in nature, sandwiched between Hakusan Mountain, one of Japan's three sacred mountains, and the Sea of Japan.
In the plains, there are many fields where rice and vegetables are grown.
From the mountains, diverse harvests are cultivated by the different faces and extremities in climate of the four seasons.
And from the Sea of Japan, natural bounties of seafood, from fish to crabs, vary with the seasons.
